摘要 THE color red was that most beloved in the Celestial Kingdom long before its associations with the Communist Party and the national flag. Over the course of centuries, Chinese people have linked red with joy, happiness and auspiciousness. Brides dressed in red, Chunlian (Spring Couplets, a traditional facet of Spring Festival, or Lunar New Year) decorations, are written on red paper bands, and red is the color of envelopes containing gifts of money at weddings and New Year.
