摘要
本文根据大量有关史料和文物,对中国船舶中桨的产生、发展和演变进行了系统的研究考证,认为在中国,桨产生于七千年前,以后又陆续出现了梢、橹、舵、及轮桨,而所有这些船舶推进工具和操纵工具都是由桨发展变化而来,并形成了中国桨的系统。
This article, which is a systematic investigation into the origin and development of oars, of the oars of ancient Chinese boats, holds that the oar appeared in China 7000 years ago followed in succession by the stern-sweep, the scull, the rudder and the paddle, and that all these latter push and control implements were evolved from the former, thus forming a system of Chinese oars.
