Chinese legend has it that there was a mysterious mountain in pre-historic times known as the mountain home of Gods, just like Mt. Olympus in ancient Greek myths. About 7,000 to 8,000 years ago, ancestors of the Chinese race inhibited around this holy mountain. About 4,700 years ago, mythical tribe chiefs Yandi and Huangdi, venerated as the founders of Chinese civilization, expanded their spheres of influence to the mountain. This mysterious, sacred mountain is called Taishan Mountain today.
