As a classical polyphonic novel, David Lodge's Changing Places makes use of intertextuality, collage of styles and parody. Thus, it adequately illustrates the author's theory on novel's distinctiveness as a dialogic, composite style by achieving the comprehensive dialogues among texts, between texts and readers, and between texts and society.
