摘要
侦探小说这一特殊文体始于1841年美国作家爱伦.坡《莫格街谋杀案》的发表。它在世界文坛上的发展与繁荣离不开狄更斯等小说家的努力。狄更斯是当时在侦探文坛上驰骋的为数不多的经典小说家。本文拟从悬念设置、罪犯形象塑造、社会病症三方面分析狄更斯《德鲁德疑案》的侦探小说特征。
Detective story as a specific genre can be traced back to the publication of Edgar Allan Poe＇s The Murders in the Rue Morgue in 1841. However, the genre＇s development and prosperity owes much to the endeavor of such writers as Charles Dickens. Dickens is one of the few classic writers who were also good at detective story writing. This paper aims to analyze the detective characteristics of Dickens＇ Mystery of Edwin Drood in terms of suspense-creation, portrayal of Criminals and social problems.
