翻译学学科性质与研究方法反思

Reflections on the Nature and Methodology of Translation Studies

翻译研究一味追求结论的所谓客观公正,贬抑直觉阐释和价值评价,已经有背离翻译研究人文性的偏颇倾向,应该引起译界的特别警惕。翻译研究应该从综合人文社会科学的学科性质出发,以现代阐释学作为哲学依据,以人文方法作为一般研究方法,但在研究的具体方法上则可以多样化。

Translation studies, and systemic-descriptive translation studies in particular, has blindly striven for ＂scientific＂ conclusion, refraining from intuitive interpretation and value judgment. The unhealthy trend has come to such an absurdity as to deviate from the nature of the discipline as a social and human science and deserves a timely restraint. Translation studies should draw on modern hermeneutics as its philosophical foundation and base its methodology in accordance with its disciplinary nature, namely, adhering to humanistic approach as its general methodology and employing a variety of methods as is required by particular stages of the research.
