The secularization of Parallel Prose and its theories

元代并不是骈文的鼎盛时代,但在理论的总结上有着自己时代的特色。从创作实践上看,一方面台阁仍然沿袭传统的骈文模式,一方面在下层社会中,骈文有了新的发展和应用,这种变化也反映在元代骈文理论的研究上。

Yuan Dynasty was not the most flourishing period for Parallel Prose, but in theoretical conclusion, it had its own characteristics. From the point of practical writing, on one hand, the Taige still followed the traditional format; on the other hand, it had got new development and application in the lower social grade, which could be found on the research of Parallel Prose theories of Yuan Dynasty.
