Preparative high performance liquid chromatography is a kind of quick and effective separative means. In this paper,the basic theories and installations were reviewed, and the pretreatment of samples and application instances were introduced,the existing problems of the present preparative HPLC were analyzed and the developing trend was also forecasted.
