The dam for the Lidun Reservoir is built on the soft foundation with deep and thick silt layers. It is implemented successfully by means of using the way of foundation treatment, i. e. rockfill dam with clay inclined wall combining with plastic board of drainage . The loading rate of construction is extremely effectively controlled through monitoring facilities at the original place. Design , construction and monitoring are combined organically in order to have accumulated rich practical experiences and research data building dams on soft foundation.
