For a long time critics have been holding a misconception that Herman Melville' s Benito Cereno is just a story concerning “the good and the evil”. In fact, from the words of captain Delano, who had deep -rooted postcolonial thought in guise of his kindness and innocence. People can find two perspectives: the binary oppositions between the U. S. and Spain, between the white and the black.
