解构忠实——读本雅明《论译者的任务》

Deconstruction in the Faithfulness Principle——The Task of the Translator by Walter Benjamin

本文系统地分析了本雅明《论译者的任务》中“纯语言”、“可译性与不可译性”、“忠实”等诸多的翻译思想。本雅明独特的理论否定了读者的主导地位,指出译作不可能绝对忠实于原作,译作和原作具有同等的地位,对传统翻译的忠实观和“原文至上”的翻译原则造成了巨大的冲击和影响。笔者认为,不能将传统的“忠实”原则,“原文至上”的译论观作为评价翻译成功与否的唯一标准,应客观地看待翻译中的可译与不可译、“忠实”与“等效”原则。

The present paper intends to analyze and explain the specific theories of Benjamin in translation. Compared with the traditional translation theories of“faithfulness” and “equivalence”, his views on translation have caused great effect on traditional translation standard and broadened our horizon on translation and its related problems. The author of the present paper tries to prove that it is impossible to get a definite and sole -accurate understanding and obedience to the writer and the original text and comes to the point that only an objective evaluation and judgment is feasible and should be emphasized in undertaking translation.
