亚洲国际纺织机械展览会10月17日在新加坡开幕，这是亚洲地区主要的纺织机械展览会，来自世界50多个国家和地区的850多个公司和3万多名贸易参加了本次展览会。在开幕式上，新加坡贸易工业部长说，中国、印度和东南亚经济的增长对亚洲的纺织工业产生了积极的影响。去年，亚洲的面料含量增长了50%多，亚洲的纺织品和服装出口占世界总出口的一半，新加坡的纺织品和服装出口仅仅达到43亿新加坡元（合25亿美元），这次为期5天的展览会是自2001年以来新加坡举办的第二次展览会。在纺织机械展览会举办的同时，新加坡时装周也在精彩进行中。
Asian International Exhibition of Textile Machinery opened in Singapore on October 17th. This is the most important textile machinery exhibition in Asia; there are more than 30000 exhibitors and 850 companies from more than 50 countries and regions in repressntation of the exhibition. In the opening ceremony, the Minister of Singapore Trade Industry said that, the economic development of Chian, India and Eastern-Southern Asia influenced greatly on the Asian textile industry. In the last year, the textile production has increased 50%, and the export value of Asian textile and garments is half of the total export value of the world, the export value of textile and garments reached to 4.3 billion Singapore dollars （equal to US$ 2.5 billion）. This exhibition lasted for 5 days, and it is the second exhibition in Singapore since 2001. At the same time, the brilliant Singapore Fashion Week is also in process.
