“痴”之迻译:被消解了的神情意味——文学翻译中的文本解读个案研究

The Translation of Chi(痴): Shades of Meaning Untouched

准确的文本解读是产生合格译本的前提。“痴”是《红楼梦》一书的一个关键词,译者在处理原著中反复出现的“痴”字时,需要深入剖析各处的具体用意,以便更好地传达作者本意。本文拟结合实例分析《红楼梦》两个英译本中“痴”的传译,探讨某些译法的意义流失问题及可能的补偿办法。

An accurate analysis and interpretation of the original text is indispensable for the production of a well-put translation. A thorough understanding of the Chinese character“痴” is required on the part of the translator if the translation is to be a faithful representation of the masterpiece Hong Lou Meng（红楼梦） , and this present paper aims at discussing how the idea is rendered and what is missing in the two English versions of Hong Lou Meng with the help of the analysis of the selected examples.
