抗战初期，徐特立在担任国民革命军第十八集团军高级参议、驻湘代表期间，应社会各界邀请，在长沙等地进行了大量演讲活动，宣讲中国共产党的抗日政策，宣传抗日救国的道理，推动了湖南的抗日救亡运动。
In early period of anti-Japanese war, XU Te-li, as a senior senator in the 18th regime of national revolutionary army as well as a representative in Hunan, had been invited to make many speeches in Changsha and other places. He spread Chinese communist party＇s anti-Japanese policies and the truths of fighting against Japanese and saving our motherland, which pushed forward the anti-Japanese movement in Hunan province.
