摘要
《莎士比亚全集》的梁实秋译本以原语文化为取向,朱生豪译本以中国文化为依归,这种差异部分地归因于赞助者影响的不同。赞助者对朱生豪的翻译活动制约作用有限,却对梁实秋译莎提出了明确而具体的要求,对他的文化取向施加了较大的影响。赞助理论的解释力较强,但某些方面需要修正。
Liang Shiqiu's Chinese translation of The Complete Works of William Shakespeare is source-oriented while Zhu Shenghao's is target-oriented, a disparity due partly to different influences from their patrons. The patron exerts comparatively little influence on Zhu, but offers clear and definite translating requirements to Liang and heavily influences his cultural choice. The theory of patronage has explanatory power, but needs improvement at the same time.
