A new rear-caving mining method with powered shield supports in deeply inclined thick and medium thick seam is introduced in this paper. The feasibility, features, basic principles, craft diagram, key technology and application condition are analyzed and the prevention measures of gas, coal spontaneous combustion and water irruption in gob are also introduced. Feasible in technology, reliable in safety and advanced in technical and economic, it is suitable for popularization and application.
