On the Spiritual Orientation of Popular Literature and Art in the 1990s'

1990年代,中国社会结构和文化机制发生重大变革,市场经济体制确立,商品经济意识渗透到社会生活各个领域,中国当代文学艺术随之急剧裂变,呈现多元化走向,形成精英文艺、大众文艺、主流文艺三板块交叉发展的格局。尤其是大众文艺迅猛发展,成为学界瞩目的文学艺术潮流。因此,学界加强了对大众文艺的研究并提出众多的评判标准。从精神取向角度来看,1990年代大众文艺起于消闲娱乐,于中暗含“意义”与“精神”以及某种乌托邦因素,具有世俗关怀意识、灵与肉的变奏、寻找精神家园、表述现代人精神痛苦等人文精神内涵。

The social construction and cultural system met great changes whose appearances mainly lie in the setting up of market economic system and the penetration of commodity economic consciousness to each field of social life in the 1990s＇ With above changes, contemporary Chinese literature and art made a sharp fission and showed the many faceted tendency, that is, a inter-development pattern of elite, popular and major literature and art has come into being. Among this, popular literature and art is concerned in such high level by academic circles for its impetuous development that academic circles has strengthened the research and has put forward many standards of critique. On the angle of spiritual orientation, popular literature and art in the 1990s＇ originated from recreation and entertainment in which “meaning”, “spirit” and some utopian factor are implied as well. Thus, popular literature and art possesses certain connotations of humanitic spirit such as consciousness of secular concern, variation between mind and body, search for spiritual home and expression of modern people＇ s spiritual suffering.
