摘要
双语教学在我国近代高校诞生之时就出现了。但在洋务学堂时期和20世纪初期的实施却各有不同。文章通过对近代高校双语教学的史料分析,说明当时政府的无奈选择,揭示了双语教学的异质文化属性,及其所成就的中西文化整合桥梁之功,从而为当今双语教学提供借鉴。
Bilingual teaching origins from the establishment of the modem Chinese institutions of higher education. But distinct differences can be found between the two periods-the modem times and the eve of the 20th century. By analyzing the historical data of the bilingual teaching in Chinese institutions, we found that being a form of different culture, bilingual teaching is a decision that the then government can not help but to make. And most important thing is its real function of a culture bridge. It is proved valuable for the current practice.
