随着全球化和西部大开发的深入,西部少数民族语言受到了前所未有的冲击,语言教育中忽视民族语言的现象也十分严重。本文主要论述了民族语言的存在价值,指出在民族地区语言教育应该三者并重,既要加强对汉语和外语的学习,又不能忽视本族语的学习。应在学好本族语的基础上进行汉语和外语(主要是英语)的学习。
