BEIJING'S FUTURE:TRANSFORMING INTO AN INTERNATIONAL METROPOLIS

现阶段世界经济的发展重点由制造业的生产转向服务领域，国际化都市也随之成为国际贸易、金融和科技、信息的中心。随着全球经济一体化发展的加速和中国经济的崛起，作为中国窗口、经济和人口第二大城市，北京拥有全国综合管理中心、科技人才中心、交通通讯枢纽的优势和多层次的城市腹地，并且产业结构趋于合理，第三产业，尤其是国际贸易、产业技术服务、信息咨询等新兴第三产业发展迅速。只要正确认识首都功能，加强商务中心和金融中心的建设，进一步完善航空港和信息埠，改造制造业，形成京津互补联合，北京就有望率先步入国际化都市。

Since the world's economic and political structures have changed,the term 'globalization',has shown up as a dominant power and as a necessity for regional,national and urban development.As the capital of China,Beijing is the national political and cultural center.Meanwhile,with the high growth rate of development in the tertiary industry,there are dramatic changes in Beijing's labor structure,land use and urban functions.Now,Beijing is in an urban restructuring towards an international Metropolis,which confronts with many challenges.
