The paper describes the problems concerning inspection and checking in the metal balance management work and points out that it is necessary to improve the metal balance management level by relying on technological progress and to incorporate the key elements of the metal balance management into the engineering design and planning in case of establishing a new enterprise or technical modification of existing nonferrous smelting enterprises.
