A Historical Investigation of the Governance of the Communist Party of China

中国共产党从革命党到执政党并长期执政,所处的环境和目标不同,执政方式也有所不同,党始终在不断探索着最佳的执政方式。回顾我们党执政方式的历史演变,总结党执政的历史经验,得出的一个重要结论就是十六届四中全会提出的“必须坚持科学执政、民主执政、依法执政,不断完善党的领导方式和执政方式”。这是对党的执政规律的准确把握,也是当前和今后一个时期加强党的执政能力建设的总体目标要求。

From a revolutionary party to a ruling party, then a party at the helm of the nation for many years, the Communist Party of China has experienced different conditions and had different objectives and styles of governance. At the same time, it has always made explorations for the best governance. Looking back at the historical evolution of the Party＇s governance and summing up its historical experience led to an important conclusion, as advanced by the Fourth Plenary Session of the CPC Sixteenth Central Committee that the Party ＂must hold on to scientific and democratic governance according to law, constantly improving the Party＇s style of leadership and governance＂. This is an accurate grasp of the law of the Party＇s governance and serves as the overall objective of strengthening the Party＇s governing capacity for the present and for a rather long period in the future.
