The main problems existing inthe ecological environment of Heilongjiang Province were expounded in terms of soil erosion, soil degradation and desertification, forest resources reduction, and grassland quality drop caused by contrived activities. The original causes of degradation for ecological environment in Heilongjiang Province were analysed from both natural factor and human factor, and the key points for ecological protection were also discussed.
