The Inspiration of the regularity of student dropout rate in web-based education

摘要 本调研通过对某高校网络教育学院某一专业专科和专升本两个层次的学生已发生的流失情况进行分析,研究网络教育学生的流失是否存在规律,以及流失与学生成绩的关系。本调研发现,在标准的三年学制中,第二学年流失率明显高于其他年度;两个层次中专科学生的流失率明显高于专升本学生;已流失学生的平均成绩大部分在及格线以下。这些规律对今后更有针对性地对易流失学生群体在易流失阶段加强助学工作,降低流失率很有启示,为进一步探索学生流失原因提供了依据。 In the adult continuing education aspect, the student dropout is an issue, which has aroused extensive attention from institutions and learners. To further explore the student dropout problem in web-based education, the author sets all the part time students at associated degree level and bachelor from diploma level of six different terms in one certain Web-based education college from autumn 2001 to spring 2004 as the research target. According to the data collected from this Internet college learning platform, the author has made a study on the regularity of student dropout in web-based education. According to the research, in the standard associated degree level of three years and the 2nd year of bachelor degree of diploma, the student dropout rate is obviously higher than the other two years; in the comparison of the two levels, the dropout rate of students at associated degree level is much higher than that of students of degree from diploma level; from the horizontal comparison about the dropout rate among students of different terms in the same year, there is no significant difference in the dropout rate of students in the different terms in the 1st year and the 3ird year, while the dropput rate varies in the 2nd year, the survey indicates that most of the dropout students' marks are below 'Pass'. The above regularity spotted in the research contributes internet education colleges to speculating student dropout rate in next year, help them to intensify learner support service to the most vulnerable students on the highest dropout stage, and finally improve the quality of internet learning.
