摘要
介绍了李俨编目的目的及其工作，并阐述了其工作的意义．
Li Yan was a famous historian of mathematics. a railway engineer and afounder of history of mathematics in China. In his studies. he paid more attantion to historical materials and made great contribution to exploration. collection and systematization oftraditional historical materials. A series of catalogues and index of private alld public collections were made by him. This paper deals with Li Yan's contribution to bibliographyand his thought of making a catalogue of history of mathematics and its significance.
