MARC格式中存在的不足及其改进

Limitations of MARC Format and Its Improvement

综合归纳MARC格式中的种种不足并进行简要分析;从系统开发人员的角度分析MARC格式设计中的主要缺陷——数据冗余度太小,导致数据出错时程序无法及时发现。最后,提出以充分保障数据兼容性为前提的解决办法,以使现有系统可以不做任何改动而能够识别新的数据。

On the basis of analyzing the shortcomings of MARC format, this paper points out the design limitations of MARC format from the viewpoint of the computer system designer. The main problem of the MARC format is that the data is not redundant enough so that mistakes can usually not be found in time. Under a condition of a good compatibility of MARC data, a solvable way is presented that can recognize new data without any modification of the system.
