摘要
报导了一种新型边孔光纤及边孔光纤光栅的研究结果。在光纤芯两侧制作空腔孔洞,可以在光纤芯内产生应力双折射,测量结果表明,其数值达到3.9×10-5。在边孔光纤上制作光纤光栅,将产生对应不同偏振态的两反射峰,测量结果表明,两峰中心波长间隔随温度变化的灵敏度仅有0.41 pm/℃,而对光纤所受压力较为敏感。利用这一优良的特性,较好地消除光纤光栅测量中的温度-应力耦合。
The research results of a novel kind of side hole fiber and side hole fiber grating are reported. Stress induced birefringence can be introduced via bilaterally symmetrical holes placed on both sides of fiber core,which can reach 3.9×10^-5. The fiber grating Can be fabricated on the side hole fiber with novel excellent properties relative to normal single mode fiber grating,which is called side hole fiber grating, In the reflecting spectra of the side hole fiber grating, double peaks are formed corresponding to two polarization states of side hole fiber. The experimental results show that the sensitivity of the peaks separation to the temperature is only 0.41pm/℃ ,and it is much sensitive to the pressure on the fiber. This excellent property of the novel kind of side hole fiber grating can be used to solve the difficult problem of normal fiber grating sensing that is cross-sensitivity between the temperature and pressure sensing.
