Religious Practices of Tiantaishan Taoism Seen From Tang Dynasty Poetry

天台山道教在唐代有较高的政治地位和社会影响,这在唐诗里也有反映,有些作品记述了天台山道教的宗教行为,最主要的有导引服气、炼服丹药、研习经书、举行斋醮仪式等,这可以为天台山道教的研究提供一个新的视角。

Tiantaishan Taoism enjoys a relatively high status and exerts much influence on society. This is also reflected in some poems in the Tang Dynasty. Some poetic works present accounts of the religious practices of Tiantaishan Taoism, the most noticeable ones including Dao Yin Fu Qi, making and taking pills of immortality, learning and studying Confucian classics, holding fasting rituals, etc. which can provide a new perspective from which Tiantaishan Taoism is studied.
