Ligustilide, which is a main activeconstituent in ssential oil from rhizome of Ligusticumchuanxiong Hort,is apt to be decomposed.The influ-ence oflbeessential oil on microcirculation inconjunctiva bulbar was compared in rabbits injectedintravenously with dextran T500 before and afterligustilide was decomposedResults showed that therewas no difference between two types of essential oil inspasmolysis of venulae.After decomposing ligustilide,however.the effect of essential oil were obviouslyweakened in spasmolysis of arteriolae,de-coagulatingerythrocyte increasing the number of openedcapillary,accelerating the speed of blood flow and en-larging the amount of blood flow in microcirculation.
