摘要
本文首先指出光纤通信系统研究的主攻方向。而后说明密集波分多路的实验系统和介绍最新报道的1Tb/s系统。本文讲到密集波分多路系统使用的单模光纤,包括常规的、色散移位的、色散补偿的和非零色散等几种光纤。然后说明密集波分多路系统使用的光纤放大器及其改善增益频谱的方法,又讲到在波分多路方式以外,光的时分多路和偏振多路方式。最后指出密集波分多路系统的实际应用有赖于光子集成技术的进步。
After pointing out the two main directions of current research on the optical fiber communication systems, the paper briefly describes the recent experimental systems for the 1 Tb/s dense wavelength divisions multiplex technology,and the use of various designs of single mode fiber, including the conventoinal,dispersion shifted, dispersion compensating, and non zero dispersion fibers. Then,the paper discusses the methods to overcome the gain-spectrum variations in the fiber amplifier, the various multiplexing techniques in addition to the wavelength division, including the optical time division multiplexing and polarization multiplexing. Finally, the paper stresses the importance of photonic integration in the implementation of dense wavelength division multiplex systems.
