Nonlinear axisymmetric vibrations of orthotropic thin shallow spherical shells

A new time-mode approach to nonlinear axisymmetric free vibrations of cylindrically orthotropic thin shallow spherical shells is presented. Coupled algebraic-differential equations determining vibration frequencies are formulated with the variational method. Asymptotic solutions are obtained with an improved iteration method suggested by the authors.
