On Aesthetic Features of Vague Language

语言的模糊性主要表现在词义、语义、修辞和句法的模糊上。它的主要特点就是模糊不清,即具有不确定性、不精确性,从而为我们提供了联想、想象的充分条件,提供了审美的广阔空间。模糊语言的审美特征集中体现于精确美、含蓄美、幽默美和形象美。

Vagueness has four aspects： lexical meaning, semanteme, figure of speech and syntax. Compared to accuracy, vague language has such properties as fuzziness, nondetenninacy and inaccuracy, which cause unlimitedness, flexibility and variety that offer sufficient conditions for mental association and imagination and extensive aesthetic space. Aesthetic features of vague language focus on its accuracy, connotation, humor and image.
