常虎铁路既是东莞地区的城市铁路,又是广、深、港客运专线和京九铁路、广深铁路之间的联络线。它将有利于改善当地的投资环境,有利于东莞市的可持续发展;形成东莞市轨道交通与国铁的资源整合;促进珠江三角洲区域快速交通线网的合理编织。

The line, operating as the urban railway in Dongguan region, the dedicated passenger line between Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Hong Kong, and the link between Beijing-Kowloon line and Guangzhou- Shenzhen line, shall promote the integration of the resources of the urban transit in Dongguan city and the national railways, and the rational pattern of the traffic network in Zhujiang delta, resulting in improved investing environment and the sustainable development of Dongguan city.
