从远程教育产业的背景入手,深入浅出地分析了在中国发展网络远程教育的可行性,同时指出了目前发展网络远程教育产业的制约性因素,探讨了中国发展远程教育产业具有广阔的市场前景和深远的社会意义,以及对提高我国国民素质的作用和影响,应该得到国家政府大力支持和各个院校的协作配合。

With distance education as the background, this paper analyzes the feasibility of industrializing web- based distance education in China. The factors that might hinder the development of web-based distance education as an industry are exposed, and the great prospect and social significance of web-based distance education are discussed. It＇s believed that web-based distance education will contribute to quality enhancement among Chinese people and should have the strong support from government at various levels and colleges and universities.
