Being an important thought trend, the idea of “saving the nation through education” has a wide and profound influence in China＇s modern history, which is one of the progressive views concerning nation＇s salvation in modern times in China and which is the production of both the nation＇s crises at the time and the worries a- bout the miserable situation and the nation＇s future. The rising and developing of the tide take the steps as follows ： embryonic stage; thriving stage; developing stage; upsurge stage and falling stage. This idea undisputedly is rational and advanced at the time , but, being a trend of thought , it is also historically limitary.
