The US Navy released a new version of Unmanned Underwater Vehicles （ UUV ） Master Plan recently. It captured the navies＇extensive attention in the world. This paper describes the key points of the plan, including the strategic requirements of the US Navy , the UUV＇s class, task and priority grade, as well as its capability requirements and nine key tasks. The requirement background of UUV are analyzed based on the new strategic requirements of “the sea power in the 21st century”.
