On the Mode of Teaching for Culture-based Extensive Reading

语言是文化的载体,因此文化与外语教学有着不解之缘。文章在语言与文化,文化与教学的关系上探讨了阅读中的文化教学,阐述了文化教学在阅读课程中的必要性和可行性,提出建立以文化教学相匹配的以文化项目为导向的阅读教材。

Language is the carrier of culture and so culture is closely related to foreign language teaching. This paper explores the culture - based method in extensive - reading course in view of relationship between language and culture and that between culture and teaching, presenting its necessity and feasibility and suggesting compiling the reading materials with different items of culture to suit culture- based teaching method.
