Metaredundancy——The Inheritance of Language Structure Theory between Saussure and Halliday

根据索绪尔的“社会符号元理论”,语言符号的组成部分———能指和所指之间是一种“元冗复”关系。韩礼德的语言层次结构理论是索绪尔的“元冗复”思想的继承和发展。

This paper attempts to re-explain of the philosophical inheritance of language structure between Saussure and Halliday from the perspective of “metaredundancy”. Based on Saussure＇s socialsemiological metatheory, there is a metaredundant relationship between signifier and signified comprising the whole sign. Then this paper explores how Halliday＇s language structure theory is inherited from Saussure＇s from the perspective of “metaredundancy”. Finally this paper draws a conclusion that there is a high degree of the theoretical inheritance between Saussure and Halliday.
