语段亦称句段或句群(sentencegroup),即句子组合,是介乎语篇与句子之间的语义单位,是大于句子的语言片断正因为语段是语义单位,而不是语法单位,所以在翻译过程中着眼点是语义而不是句子结构。

Paragraph, which can be known as sentence paragraph or sentence group, is the combination of sentences. It is a semantic unit,intervenient between text and sentence, and also a language fragment at a higher rank than a sentence. Just because paragraph is a semantic unit, not a phraseological unit, in the process of translation, we＇d better put an eye to the semantic pattern instead of the sentence pattern.
