摘要
本文通过对中国人学习外语的生理、心理和社会基础的特殊性的讨论,以及对中国外语教学理论研究和外语教学实践过程中存在的种种问题的分析,论证了建立具有中国特色的外语教学理论体系的必要性和紧迫性;着重讨论了中国特色外语教学理论所应涉及的范围和重要课题。作者提出,中国学者应该从本体论、实践论和方法论的角度对在中国特殊环境下进行外语教学所涉及的一系列问题进行广泛、深入和细致的探讨和研究.在实验的基础上形成一套符合中国国情的外语教学理论体系和具有高度可操作性的外语教学实践原则。同时,着力提高外语师资水平,以期中国的外语教学取得真正的突破和成功。
Based on a review of the problems that have been plaguing FLT in China and the characteristics of Chinese learners in terms of their biological, psychological and social foundations in learning foreign languages, the author discusses the necessity and urgency in developing FLT theories that suit the Chinese reality. The author points out that we need to study issues that pertain to teaching and learning a foreign language in the Chinese setting from ontological, procedural and methodological perspectives and develop theories and methodologies that are based on Chinese reality and are highly feasible and effective in achieving breakthroughs in FLT in China.
