Objective To investigate the expressions their correlations with the grade of differentiation. Methods of p53, p16 and E-cad genes in terminal gastric carcinoma, and The expressions of p53, p16 and E-cad were detected by using iramunohistochemistry in 65 specimens of gastric carcinoma. Results The positive rate of p53 in well-differentiated gastric carcinoma tissues was significantly lower than that in poor-differentiated ones. The positive expression of E-cad was correlated with histological type and degree of defferentiation of gastric carcinoma. No correlation between the expression of p16 and grade of differentiation was observed. Conclusion The abnormal expressions of p53 and E-cad may play an important role in the course and prognosis of gastric carcinoma.
