The ideas about recognization and selection of cifu-verse in the Anthology of the Old Literature show that there is a spiral returning and promoting in stead of blind devotion to archaism. Bearing the accepted standard of verse style cifu in mind,＇YAO Nai tried to generalize the features of prose-style cifu,probing the intricate grounds by which fu the genre would be established. The ideas concerning the genre of cifu embodied in this anthology provide valuable reference and models, besides of this ,much attention to cifu-the literary genre in anthologizing the ancient literature will better our understanding YAO Nai from another distinctive point of view.
