大学之“道”与大学之“器”——传统大学精神解读

Dao of university and utensil of university——Explanation of traditional spirit of university

“道”与“器”既是中国传统文化的基本问题,也是中国传统大学的基本问题。长期以来,大学“道”“器”疏离,其整体功能被严重肢解,大学之理想及其精神沉沦。大学精神是大学的灵魂和本质,是大学存在和发展的基石。随着多元化、综合化、个性化时代的到来,人们提出了实现“道”与“器”、人文与科学、学术性和工具性、思辨理性和技术理性的整合,崇尚理性与追求功利的有机统一,重建当代大学精神的历史使命。

Dao and utensil is not only the primary question of traditional culture ot China, but also the primary question of traditional university of China. For a long time, utensil of university is separated from Dao of university, the whole function is damaged badly, and the ideal and spirit of university is injured. The spirit of university embodies the soul and basic character which is the base of exist and development of university. With the coming of time of multiple, comprehensive and individualism, people put forward the historical mission including the integration of Dao and utensil, humanities and science, academics and utensils, thinking science and technological science. Therefore, we are able to reconstruct the spirit of modern university which can realize the unification of science and utility.
