摘要
文章作者以《汉英大辞典》(上海交通大学出版社1995年版)上一个常见成语的歧义翻译为例,深入探讨英汉两种语言中的数字隐喻及其翻译处理。
This paper tries to probe into numeral metaphor and misleading translation of rhetorical numbers on the basis of a common Chinese idiom with numbers in it by Chinese-English Dictionary （Shanghai Jiao Tong University Press, 1995）. The author of this paper also discusses the skills of translation of rhetorical numbers between English and Chinese.
