和谐社会表现为物质文明、政治文明和精神文明全面、协调和健康发展。宗教与社会主义社会相适应,是政治文明、精神文明不断深化提高的重要体现。当代世界动荡中的民族和军事冲突,隐含着深刻的宗教背景。中国共产党在深刻总结和认真吸取世界各国处理宗教问题正反两方面经验的基础上,提出积极引导宗教与社会主义社会相适应的方针。这是构建和谐社会的重要文化工程。
