Lloyd＇s of London have won access to the Chinese insurance market under a deal struck during Chinese President Hu Jintao＇s visit to the UK,The deal, the first time a western re-insurer has gained entry to China＇s rapidly expanding market, will allow Lloyd＇s to reinsure local currency businesses, which currently comprises nearly 90% of the total Chinese market. The agreement will also allow Chinese insurers to enter Lloyd＇s market.Lloyd＇s will establish a subsidiary firm in China. the first step of its move into the Chinese market.
