现代乡土小说体现了现代乡土作家对自我的二重放逐。他们告别故乡,就意味着成为乡土的一个“他者”,而同时又无法自如地进入城市的生存语境。于是他们只能把自己精神的栖所放在“别处”,在创作的“白日梦”中为漂泊的灵魂重构一个虚构性和理想性的精神家园,为现代人建构了一种理想的生活模式———人和自然完全的和谐。
