The 600kt/a steam cracker and 300kt/a ethylene glycol(MEG)unit owned by Yangzi-BASF Company,a joint venture be-tween SINOPEC Yangzi Petrochemical Branch Company andBASK have been successfully put on stream.The steamcracker has been operating smoothly since its startup。
The 600kt/a steam cracker and 300kt/a ethylene glycol （MEG） unit owned by Yangzi-BASF Company, a joint venture between SINOPEC Yangzi Petrochemical Branch Company and BASF, have been successfully put on stream. The steam cracker has been operating smoothly since its startup, and the MEG unit is in the stage of commissioning. The methyl acrylate unit owned by this company was put on stream in December 2004, and its butyl acrylate unit came online in January 2005, followed by commissioning of a 400kt/a LDPE unit. The 160kt/a acrylic acid unit came online in April 2004 to provide feedstock for manufacture of methyl acrylate and butyl acrylate. Furthermore, this integrated project also covers a 30kt/a propionic acid unit, a 50kt/a formic acid unit, a 36kt/a methylamine unit and a 40kt/a dimethylformamide （DMF） unit.
