The construction of an 80kt/a unit for manufacture of styrene from FCC light ends owned by Hainan Shihua Jiasheng Chemical Company, Ltd. has been kicked off. The Shihua Jiasheng Chemical Company is formed by jointly funding from Hainan Shihua Refining and Chemical Company, Ltd. and Jiangsu Jiasheng Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. The refining and chemical units constructed by Shihua Refining and Chemical Company in Yangpu will provide this project with dry gas and pure benzene as feedstocks. The investment in this project totals 305 million RMB. The process unit will adopt advanced FCC light ends technology and is slated for construction completion in June 2006 in tandem with refining projects.
