The mechanism of skid resistance of asphalt pavement and related influencing factors are analyzed. Combined with research achievements and practical experiences at home and abroad the key points for the selection of material and type of skid resistant surface and gradation are introduced. Practice shows adding skid resistant surface on asphalt pavement is practicable.
